The roles

Restaurant manager

You will be responsible for the efficient and smooth running of the restaurant on all levels as well as ensuring an excellent level of customer service is delivered at all times. To maintain our high standards you will have a hands-on management style. As a result of your passion for coaching and developing people will ensure your team will be a real credit to you. As well as your organisational and planning skills will guarantee a fun and relaxed atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.


Assistant Managers

You will thrive at ensuring your restaurant runs smoothly and follows the company standards. Your excellent communication skills will ensure everyone reaches their potential and works well as a team.


waiters

As a talented head chef your passion for Italian cuisine will inspire the whole brigade. Using only the finest and freshest ingredients your team will learn from your high commitment to the company high standards. Your focus will be on succession planning for your kitchen team, food cost analysis and driving food quality to its potential. Your excellent communication skills will inspire your team to make them and you proud.


Sous Chef

The kitchen is where the real action happens! As a Sous chef you will have a structured training programme, which will vary according to your role.

Don’t worry if you haven’t had any formal training as a cook. As long as you have had some experience in a catering environment and have genuine love of food, we will give you all the training you need. In return you should be enthusiastic about what you do and willing to learn.You should also be able to work under pressure – our kitchens get very busy!!


Waiter

From families to couples, first dates to anniversaries, Spaghetti House is the place where friends and families meet and enjoy our great food. So it’s our job to make sure each and every customer enjoys the real Spaghetti House atmosphere.

Your training

Welcome to ACCESS, the Supervisory Development Programme, which has been specifically created to help you to develop the core management skills, needed to become a successful Assistant Manager.

The programme is exclusive to Spaghetti House Ristoranti, and works through structured training modules and on the job training.

Through the training courses, you will get the opportunity to work with supervisors from other restaurants in the business, to share ideas and to solve challenges together. After each training course you will be given a task to complete, which will involve problem solving and research in your own restaurant.

The ACCESS programme has no time limits on it but will involve obtaining 5 credits for an attendance certificate or 10 credits to achieve certification in Supervisory Development from Spaghetti House Ristoranti. Upon graduation from the programme, you will have gained both technical knowledge and professional experience, helping you to progress into junior management as and when opportunities arise.


Programme Overview

ACCESS consists of 5 modules incorporating tailored programmes and existing management training. It will cover the key competencies and values important to our business in Spaghetti House Ristoranti. The programme modules are highlighted below:

There are 5 modules as follows:

  • Team leading
  • Communication
  • Motivation & Delegation
  • Absence management
  • Conflict Management

During the programme, you will be assigned a variety of post course work which on completion will be marked pass or fail by the course tutor. Each completed task will provide you with an extra credit.


How it will work

It is your responsibility, to complete the tasks and objectives as set out in the programme. In order for you to collate and retain all the training materials gained through the programme and to keep a record of any personal evidence you have achieved, you will be provided with a training file.

You will have the support of an on site coach who will be your Restaurant Manager. The role of the coach will be to act as your guide during the programme and to help to review your progress.


Recognition

Upon completion of 5 attendance credits you will receive a certificate of attendance and on completion of 10 credits you will be awarded a certificate in Supervisory Management from Spaghetti House Ristoranti.


What Next

If you like the sound of the programme and would like to take part, you will need to complete a nomination form with your manager, detailing what you hope to achieve from the program and your objectives.

If you are selected to join the programme you will be given instructions as to when the course will begin and what dates the training courses will take place. Your nomination form will be kept by the HR manager, and used to measure your progress and evaluate the programme.

If your application is unsuccessful, you will be given feedback from your Restaurant Manager as to why, and what you can do to make sure that you are ready to participate in the programme next time.

Welcome to ACCESS & ADVANCE, our Assistant Management Development Programme. This initiative has been designed in order to support and aid those people who want to become Restaurant Managers.


what is advance

ADVANCE is a management development programme created by Spaghetti House Ristoranti.

This programme has been designed in order to support and aid the development of those people, who have the hunger and passion to want to be managers of the future in the exciting and constantly changing world of restaurants. What’s involved?

  • A challenging year of hard work.
  • You will develop your own learning programme.
  • Regular meetings with a mentor.
  • Attending a set calendar of training raging from Delegation, Employment Law to Time management.
  • Project work based around four areas: Food, Finance, Human Resources and Sales & Marketing.
  • Performance monitored both formally through an annual performance review and informally through monthly job chats.
